Who can enter?
Open to professional and amateur photographers from any country worldwide using traditional or digital methods.

What is an entry?
An entry consists of a single file upload, 3 files or 5 files, depending on the option you choose.

Is there a limit to the number of entries?
No. You may enter more than once. We encourage it! Simply go to our submission page, fill out the form and upload your work. Submission is valid after payment is received.

Can I enter if I live outside of the U.S.?
Yes! This is an international photography contest open to photographers from all over the world.

How Do I Enter?
Fill out the registration form, select categories you want to enter in, upload your images and pay entry fees. Your entry is submitted when entry fees are paid. You will receive an entry confirmation email upon payment of entry fees.

What is the Final Deadline for submissions?
The closing deadline for the FIRST HALF OF B&W CHILD 2018 PHOTO COMPETITION is July 1st, 2018 at 11:59 pm PST.

When will the winners be announced?
Winners of The First Half B&W CHILD PHOTO COMPETITION 2018 will be announced in August 2018. All category winners automatically compete for the chance to win The Grand Prize of 1000 EUR. The Second Half of B&W CHILD 2018 will be open on July 15th, 2018. The results of The Second Half and The Grand Winner (the photographer with the best results on entire competition) will be announced by February 15th, 2019.

How much are entry fees to submit?
Single File Submission – €10.00 (EUR)
Package of 3 Files – €20.00 (EUR)
Package of 5 Files – €30.00 (EUR)

How can I pay my entry fees?
We use PayPal to collect entry fees. 

Are entry fees refundable?

Generally, all paid entry fees are non-refundable.

If CHILD PHOTO COMPETITION elects to cancel or terminate a competition prior to the closing deadline, CHILD PHOTO COMPETITION will refund all paid entry fees.

How many images can I enter?
You can choose to submit a single file, 3 files or 5 files in one entry. You may enter unlimited times. Each time you need to fill out the form and submit your work.

Will my images be sold?
No. You retain copyright to your photograph(s) and the Organizer may not sell your photo entry for a fee.

Can I enter work that has been published?
We accept published and unpublished work but images and artworks made at tutorials and workshops are not eligible.

Is there a time limit on when the photograph was taken?
There are no restrictions on the date of the photograph.

Can I enter an image that has won or been nominated before at the CHILD PHOTO COMPETITION?
Winning and nominated images cannot be entered again.

What size of files can I submit?
Digital images must be saved as jpeg at 72 ppi (quality 10 in Photoshop),  1,024 px longest side, 150-450Kb per file in RGB.

Can I have my logo or name on the photograph?
Images must not have any embedded marks, logos, names or borders.

Do you accept digitally manipulated images?
Yes. We encourage creative images with unique story and concept.

How does the judging process work?
We are using a ‘blind judging’ system where judges will not be aware of any information about the authorship of specific submissions. Judging for each competition will be comprised of two stages: (1) initial screening, and (2) judge scoring. Initial screening ensures that submissions meet a minimum level of technical quality and conform to the specified image requirements. Submissions that pass the initial screening will be forwarded to the competition’s panel of judges for scoring.

 

What happens to the copyright of the images and how will the images be used?
Copyright remains with the owner at all times. Submitted images may be used online and in print for promotional purposes. The photographer’s name will always be credited.

Privacy
We respect your privacy and your personal information remains private at all times. Only your name and country are shown publicly on the website alongside your image if you are a winner or nominee.
